Training

Training

All personnel listed on active animal projects must (1) enroll in the Occupational Health and Safety Program (OHSP) and (2) complete Animal User Certification prior to beginning any animal work.

Animal User Certification training must be completed every 4 years and OHSP should be reviewed annually and updated as necessary.

There are two ways to receive initial Animal User Certification training:

  1. Animal User Certification via MyCourses
  2. Animal User Certification via CITI

Refresher training can be done by completing the initial training again or by attending a live "special topic" training that will be offered twice a year (Spring/Fall). If you have a topic that you would like to see offered, please contact Trina Smith, IACUC Administrator, at 662-325-0994 or by email at tsmith@orc.msstate.edu.
